In 2026 we are excited to announce that we’ll be launching Barre Pilates classes at our studio in Sheffield, bringing together Barre and Pilates into one exercise class which focuses on strength, alignment and controlled movement.

Hybrid fitness classes have been growing in popularity over the last year, bringing together the best parts of two types of exercise to create a blend of the two.

We’ve seen that Barre Pilates classes are a great way to harness the benefits of these two forms of exercise in a way that’s fun, accessible and a bit different to the norm.

What is Barre Pilates?

Barre Pilates is a hybrid class that takes the basic foundations of Pilates and combines them with Ballet-inspired moves, Yoga and Strength Training

Barre is a ballet-inspired workout which focuses on low-impact exercises to ‘lengthen and strengthen’ the body and as an emphasis on good posture and controlled movement.

It’s a great workout that challenges your mind-body connection, coordination and strength giving you a full body workout from head to toe.

Combining ballet-inspired moves and Yoga with Pilates creates a balanced, low stress but highly effective workout that will really improve strength, mobility and flexibility, and that’s why we’re so excited about launching Barre Pilates classes in the new year alongside our Pilates and Yoga classes.

It’s a great class to compliment your usual Pilates sessions or as a stand- alone workout

What to expect in our Barre Pilates classes

Each class will include some variations; however our Barre Pilates classes will usually include a warm up, standing Barre work, some floor Pilates, strength sections and a cool down.

We will be using equipment such as a Pilates mat and a ballet barre.

The main thing to know is that the classes will be taught at a beginner level so will be suitable for all levels and abilities, with no previous experience required.
