The word Yoga means “to join together”

It brings together the mind, body and spirit through three main practices: Physical poses (asanas), breathing techniques and meditation/relaxation techniques

Our Yoga classes are a combination of Hatha and Vinyasa flows creating a Gentle Yoga practice suitable for beginners and other levels and abilities

Hatha combines “ha” (sun) and “tha” (moon), symbolising the balance of opposing forces. It encompasses physical postures (asanas) and breathing techniques practiced slowly and focusing on Static poses.

Vinyasa means “to place in a special way”.  It is a dynamic, flowing style that synchronises breath with movement. Vinyasa involves a series of poses (asanas) that smoothly transition from one to the next one. Sun Salutation is a Vinyasa sequence. This practice enhances mindfulness and inner calm.

We start our classes by settling into our space and setting the intention for the session. Followed by a gentle warm up to prepare the body and mind.

We then explore the Postures (asanas) by holding in static positions concentrating on alignment and breathing before linking them together creating a slow and gentle Vinyasa (Yoga flow).

Before finishing our session with a meditation/relaxation practice to allow your body and mind to rest deeply and integrate the benefits of your physical practice.
