I have been attending Pilates classes at New Healthy Body for almost 5 years.
During this time I’ve come to better understand my body. Pilates exercises have helped each me how to tweak my everyday life in order to minimise the effects of arthritis, damaged spine and of course the general ageing process.
I am very aware that my muscle strength, flexibility and balance are infinitely better than they were 5 years ago and pain which was a constant companion before is now less frequent and much more manageable.
The class I attend is mixed ability and age but Clare allows us all to adjust our level of exercise to suit ourselves, whilst ensuring we challenge ourselves wherever possible.
We laugh a lot, even when things seem hard and there is a really friendly atmosphere amongst us, which is a lovely bonus.
I wish more people would realise how important it is to keep their bodies supple and active.
Pilates is an excellent way to do this and is accessible to all ages and abilities.
I certainly hope to continue for many years to come.
